Biography

Trey is the Product Development Director at Corporate America Credit Union, where he leads the development of innovative payment solutions to enhance the credit union industry’s payment infrastructure. With over 13 years of experience in financial services, including regulatory compliance, retail credit union leadership, and product development, Trey brings a comprehensive perspective to the evolving payments landscape. After graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. in Business Administration on a football scholarship, Trey began his career in 2012 as a credit union examiner for the State of Alabama, gaining critical expertise in regulatory compliance and operational risk. He later served as Vice President at a natural person credit union, where he excelled in designing member-focused financial products and improving operational efficiencies. At Corporate America Credit Union, Trey collaborates with credit unions, fintech providers, and regulatory bodies to drive innovation and ensure seamless payment operations. A passionate advocate for credit unions, Trey leverages his diverse experience to empower member institutions through innovation, efficiency, and a deep understanding of the financial ecosystem. His expertise in payments and leadership positions him as a thought leader in the rapidly transforming financial industry.

Under Trey’s leadership, Corporate America has become a trusted ally, guiding credit unions through regulatory shifts and technological evolution. He educates them on their vital payments role, spearheads initiatives like the development of Rise, a web-based loan payment portal—processing nearly $70 million in 2024—and implementing RTP and FedNow payment rails for Corporate America’s members. Collaborating with tech providers, Trey equips member institutions with cutting-edge platforms to rival banks and fintechs. 

Blending credit union values with modern technology, Trey optimizes resources, streamlines processes, and delivers practical payment solutions. His work strengthens individual credit unions and the cooperative system at large.

Where do you see the nominee succeeding in the future?

I see the nominee continuing to trail blaze through the financial services sector by bridging the gap between credit unions and the payments industry. Trey has a deep passion for filling in educational gaps and is always willing to invest his payments expertise into the minds of those around him. Not only does Trey develop products and services for credit unions to take advantage of the payments industry, but he empowers the credit unions in which he serves by collaborating with them as he builds said products. Trey is fearless, diligent and fights daily to usher others into the payments landscape one credit union at a time!
