Social Media and the Underground Fraud Economy

Join us as we take an informative, and sometimes shocking, tour of the underground fraud economy. This session will examine social media fraud schemes and feature a live demo of the Telegram app as speakers discuss how it may be used by fraudsters to facilitate myriad fraud types relating to checks, cards, and ACH. In this session, we will provide a brief history the underground economy and how the rise of social media and P2P apps have facilitated an explosion in fraud types such as mail theft and check fraud.
