Overview
Innovations in the payments space are occurring at record speed with governing laws and regulations vying to keep up. As financial institutions, fintechs and other partners build new or assess existing business models it is important for them to be on top of the latest legal and regulatory developments which can impact the continued viability of existing strategies, including topics related to Banking-as-a-Service. This session will explore important legal and regulatory considerations for partnerships between FIs and fintechs, particularly between ODFIs and Third-Party Senders, as a result of recent legal and regulatory activity. Speakers explore myriad issues including the banking regulators’ increased scrutiny of third-party relationships, increased use of FBO and other custodial accounts, and the implication of money transmission laws on Third-Party Senders.
