Biography
Chelsye’s passion is to help mitigate risk and create efficiencies in the payments industry by pursuing innovative product offerings and using original approaches to problem-solving. As Director of Payments for Novo, Chelsye is the internal subject matter expert on ACH, Wire, Card, Check, and emerging payments rails to develop a best-in-class digital payments strategy. She is responsible for scaling operations and advising stakeholders across the organization. In her roles in various organizations, including ePayResources and Cottonwood Financial, her role included implementing new payments technology as well as oversight of all payments transactions. Chelsye’s experience also includes time at Texas Security Bank as the Head of Operations and Payments, where her payments experience included working as a Teller, Customer Service Representative, and Specialist in Deposit Operations. Chelsye is currently working toward her Bachelor of Science degree in Leadership Studies from Texas Tech University and has a constant passion for learning and improving the payments industry by her involvement with educational programs with ePayResources and various industry events such as Payments Innovation Alliance meetings.
How is the nominee propelling the industry forward?
Chelsye is a thought leader and has continued to excel in her roles to project payment innovation, including compliance and regulation. As an AAP and APRP, she is proficient in ACH, risk management, and advocates for faster payments in the fintech space.
Where do you see the nominee succeeding in the future?
I have known Chelsye for several years and have seen her grow and mature into a strong woman with incredible leadership skills. This is true personally, being a wife and mother of 4 but an entrepreneur of several successful small businesses while going to school and working full time. I have seen her passion and hard work in the payments industry, from being a teller and quickly moving through the ranks to leadership roles and becoming a highly respected voice in the companies where she works and in industry events. Chelsye has the drive to kick butt and be a significant influencer in the future payments industry.
