LUNCH & LEARN: An ODFI's Guide to ACH Origination Agreements
ACH origination services require an understanding of risk. As faster payments continue to progress and mobile payment applications gain ground, more community banks and credit unions are becoming ODFIs, and need to be prepared to accept any associated risks. Originators should know their obligations to ODFIs, as well as their responsibilities and service parameters. In this session, attendees walk through the ACH Origination Agreement and discuss various areas of risk and proper risk mitigation techniques.
Questions answered during this session:
1. What do the Nacha Operating Rules require ODFIs to have in an Origination Agreement?
2. How are you obtaining, managing and documenting authority, document structure, procedures and trends, and what is considered commercially reasonable?
