Most recently, the payments threat landscape has been largely influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic with threat actors employing tried and true methodologies such as social engineering, payment account enumeration, e-commerce skimming and ransomware. They also developed new and novel techniques to conduct fraud, using cryptocurrency exchanges to launder proceeds, exploit unemployment insurance benefits and stimulus payments from the U.S. government, and found new ways to obtain and monetize payment accounts. In this session, attendees learn about the most significant trends in the payments threat landscape, the tactics employed and how to fight back against attacks targeting the global payment ecosystem.
